VISITING THE GARDENS

The Burnley Gardens are open to the public, to explore, enjoy and relax in.

However as the gardens have become more popular, we have had to introduce a few rules.

  • Small groups are welcome to bring a picnic.
  • Portable, fold up  picnic tables and chairs are acceptable.
  • Any other furniture, including but not limited to, lighting, market umbrellas, outdoor furniture settings and sports equipment for games such as soccer, volley ball etc, are not to be taken into or used in the Gardens.
  • Groups larger than 8-10 people are encouraged to book the garden space, to ensure an appropriate space is allocated.

You can Book a tour of the Gardens for your group, escorted by our knowledgeable Friendly Guides or print out a copy of our Brochure Guide to the Gardens, and take your own self-guided walk.

You can help our hard-working Committee by paying for any special events or outings in advance. Visit Payments for details.

PLEASE NOTE that the Friends are a volunteer organisation. Approval for using the Gardens for functions, photo shoots and so on lies with the University of Melbourne, hence all inquiries for Garden use should be emailed to the Burnley Campus Manager  lisa.wittick@unimelb.edu.au
