Achievements

Our fund-raising activities have been a major support to the Gardens over the years. Some recent projects include:

History of the Wisteria Arbour Hilda Kirkhope Rock Garden

New entrance gates to the Field Station
The Sugar Gum Setting
A new wisteria arbour in the Garden

The Luffman Lily Ponds

The lily ponds are a beautiful sight in spring as the waterlilies bloom. These 1890’s ponds, designed in the typical curvaceous style of Luffmann, were renovated in  2009 with FOBG  funds. Since their water-proofing with cement, their water usage has dramatically decreased from hundreds of thousands of litres a year to on average 60,000 litres per year. (last 4 years)”
