Guided Tours by the Friendly Guides
The
Friendly Guides conduct tours of the historic Burnley Gardens. The
Guides are well-versed in the history of the Gardens and the plants
they contain, some of which are as old as the Gardens themselves.
Two
of the trees are on the National Tree Register.
Your
group can see the Ellis Stones Garden, the Mary Kirkhope Rockery,
the Students' Sunken Garden, and the Native Garden. The native section
was designed by Kath Deery, the grassland section was designed by
James Hitchmough and the pond system was designed and constructed
by Robert Boyle. There are many other areas of interest and beauty.
Arrange
for your group to tour the Gardens (with optional light meal or
refreshment) by contacting the College Administration on 9250 6800.
